Liverpool are preparing to move for
Real Madrid striker
Javier Saviola in the event that
Robbie Keane joins
Tottenham. It has been reported this morning that Keane is on his way to
London to
hold talks with Spurs about a possible return after just
six months away from the club and it would appear that
Rafa Benitez is already preparing for life without him.
Saviola,
27, has been linked with a host of
Premier League clubs over the past few weeks including the likes of
Portsmouth, Newcastle, West Ham and
Everton, however should Liverpool come in for him, it is thought that the
Argentine international will opt to move to
Anfield.
The former
Barcelona man has struggled for
first team football at the
Bernabeu since his move back in
2007, making only a
handful of appearances during that time. I personally would love to see Saviola arrive in
England before the transfer window shuts. Although he
hasn't made much of an impact at Madrid over the past few years I feel he would be a
very good addition to Benitez' squad as they bid to claim their first ever Premier League title.
Stay tuned to
Football Corner for all the latest on this and much more over the coming hours.
