Manchester City could be about to pull of another
sensational transfer deadline day deal. It has been reported this evening that the
world's richest club are on the brink of agreeing a deal with
Blackburn for striker
Roque Santa Cruz, who has been linked with a move to
Eastlands for several weeks.
Blackburn have
rejected several bids for the
Paraguayan international in recent weeks, with the last bid thought to be around the
£19 million mark. Rovers boss
Sam Allardyce has always maintained his
desire to keep Santa Cruz at
Ewood Park, however it is understood if City make a bid of
£25 million for the player it will be
accepted.
City boss
Mark Hughes has already worked with Santa Cruz during his time at Blackburn and the former
Wales manager is desperate to
re-ignite their relationship at the
City of Manchester stadium. Wouldn't this just be
incredible. This move looked
dead in the water just an hour ago, however it's with City you can never
rule anything out.

latest developments on this and much more over the next few hours.
