Julien Faubert has today become the latest player to leave
West Ham this month after he agreed to join
Real Madrid on a
5-month loan deal. The
French international has failed to make an impact at
Upton Park after signing for the Hammers back in
2007 and the club have now decided to let him join Real on loan with a view to making the deal
permanent.It is understood that the
Spanish giants have paid West Ham
£1.5 million for the loan deal and they will have to pay an additional
£4.5 million in the summer if they want to make it permanent. Faubert,
25, made just over
30 appearances for West Ham during his time at the club, which was marred by an
achillies injury which he suffered just weeks after signing.
Not a bad bit of business by West Ham. They recieve nearly £2 million for a player that has
done, lets be honest,
nothing since arriving in the
Premier League. I am sure all Hammers
fans will be hoping that
Gianfranco Zola goes out and buys another midfield player before the
transfer window closes on Monday because they could really use another player in that
department.
